World number two Carlos Alcaraz will make his first appearance at the Laver Cup in 2024. European team captain Bjorn Borg announced this on November 8.
Here’s what the 20-year-old Spaniard said after the announcement:
I appreciate Captain [Bjorn] Borg’s trust in me and look forward to teaming up with my opponents in both singles and doubles in Berlin. Representing Team Europe at the Laver Cup means a lot to me, it’s a great honor. I will do whatever is asked of me to bring back the Cup to our team. Can’t wait to find out who will be joining me on the team next September.
The 2024 Laver Cup will take place in Berlin from 20 to 22 September. In the 2023 tournament, which took place in Vancouver, Team World won with a score of 13:2
