Whittier Christian Head Football Coach Sergio Gradilla announced Friday that he is stepping down from football after nine season.

Gradilla compiled a 56-45 record while coaching the Heralds.
According to WCHS Athletic Director Rolland Esslinger, Gradilla will stay on with his other roles at the school, but felt it was time to step away from coaching.
The current assistant coaches will lead the winter lifting program in the interim while the school searches for a new head coach.
Esslinger said they have already received multiple applications for the position. While he said there was no specific time table for hiring, he hopes to have a new coach in place soon.
